I was given this commission via my instagram page (@gabriellabrunoart). I was asked to do this piece as a bespoke present for the happy couple. They wanted a natural looking piece that didn’t appear posed but instead focused on them and their relationship. I feel like the piece truly shows the commitment and devotion they have to each other as well as the strong friendship they have built over the years.
I used Winsor and Newton Cotman watercolour paints with the Winsor and Newton round watercolour brushes size 0.5, 1 and 4. The round brush is effective for a this piece because it was A5 in size. By using the round brushes I was able to control the washes more precisely and define my work accordingly. The smaller the round brush the more precise definition can be created. For example in this piece, the highlights in the hair and the details in the scarf were all defined using a 0.5 round brush.
